Experiment: Programme / module design in light of generative AI

This session provides the opportunity for you to bring along ideas you would like to trial and discuss with a live audience of mock students. This could include assessments, large or small session activities, or it could be around presenting a proposed new programme / module design. You will have the opportunity to receive constructive feedback from the audience to support you in refining your plans before use in your teaching with your own students. There will also be the opportunity to explore concepts in more depth based on the interests of the participants.

You do not need to have attended the Explore session to attend, but it will be expected that you will have a good understanding of the topics that have been covered in the Explore session.

Learning outcomes for the session

In advance of the session, you will:

Have had the opportunity to create an assessment, activity or programme/module design suitable for your students that is considerate of the opportunities and challenges that AI presents to student learning.

By the end of the session you will:

Have had the opportunity to receive feedback and be given time to discuss the assessment, activity or programme/module design that you presented to identify refinements for future delivery to your students.
Have considered how learners are changing their behaviours in light of AI and how we can adapt our teaching practice to adapt to these changes.
Have considered how learning objectives and assessments can be refined within the rapidly changing landscape of AI.
Have had the chance to get hands on and try out some of the AI tools and concepts presented within the session.
Have examined your own programme/module structure to consider how it could be refined to adapt for changing learner behaviours in light of AI.

Who is this session for?

This session is designed for anyone who is responsible for the design of programmes or modules and who would like to redesign the learning and teaching within the programme/module to more effectively engage with the opportunities and challenges presented by AI.
